My Parents Are Survivors

Sonya Marvel~ Founder/Webmaster

We are an online support group with total support from all over the world. This is in honor of the Parents who have lost a child. Whether it be their only child or they have other surviving children, the pain is the same...

It still hurts and will hurt forever. We, as parents who are survivors of losing our children, have a close bond to each other. We are our support system. We go on with our lives and live them the best that we can, but our lives are different and our lives take on new meaning. We will never be the same!

After I lost my son, people would say to me "I don't know how you can live through something like this!" Well, what choices did we have in this?  We had to do it. That's what makes us survivors.  We have survived the single worst tragedy that can happen to anyone's life. Our support group helps each other. We will survive day to day and minute by minute.

My Mom Is A Survivor

This was the beginning of our online support group.  Whether it be their only child or they have other surviving children, the pain is the same...it still hurts and will hurt forever.  As mothers who are survivors of losing our children, we have a close bond to each other. We are our support system. We go on with our lives and live them the best that we can, but our lives are different and our lives take on new meaning. We will never be the same!

  My Dad Is A Survivor

A father is a person who is forced to endure childbirth without an anesthetic. He growls when he feels good and laughs very loud when he is scared half-to-death. A father never feels entirely worthy of the worship in a child's eyes. He is never quite the hero his daughter  thinks. Never quite the man his son believes him to be. And this worries him sometimes.  A father hurts when he loses a child, but he feels he must be strong for his family.  Fathers hurt, too!

My Grandparents Are Survivors

This is a support group for Grandparents who have lost a grandchild. We feel this is important because not only have you lost your grandchild, which is a heavy burden to carry, but you also have a child who is hurting because he or she lost their child. You feel you must support your child during this time, which means normally you try to set your own feelings aside to help your child. You feel you must be strong for your child, yet you are hurting just as badly.

  My Siblings Are Survivors

We each have lost a brother or sister. We want to support our moms, dads and grandparents. However, there are times we really need support for ourselves. We will not have a membership here, we merely want a place that we can talk about our siblings.
